Gucci Vault Taps Proleta Re Art for "Continuum" Capsule
Exploring the House’s archive for inspiration and raw materials.
Aside from an unexpected collaboration with Vans that resulted in takes on the classic Old Skool, Slip-On, and OG Mule, Gucci‘s Gucci Vault sub-label has now shared a team-up with Proleta Re Art. The collaborative effort is just the latest in the “Continuum” capsule collection and explores the House’s archive for inspiration and raw materials.
PROT, the artist behind the Japanese label Proleta Re Art, crafted a denim trucker and matching jeans to create a striking expression of unique tapestry. Taken from a recent Gucci collection, the Uroboros Denim Trucker Jacket and Jeans with GG canvas cuffs serve as works of art that can be worn. The GG monogram-lined denim pieces were reworked using the traditional Japanese boro technique, adding layers of patchwork and elaborate hand stitching highlighted by coloring for a truly unmatched look.
