Bay Area-based skateshop Atlas has been at the forefront of local skate culture since its establishment in 2007. Atlas is grounded in a community-focused mindset, aiming to protect city-wide athletes at all times. The store continues this journey by tapping adidas for an all-new Forum 84 ADV collaboration. “Atlas has a long history of going beyond just making transactional sales, we work hard to serve our Bay Area community in every way that we can,” says Atlas co-owner Ryen Motzek. “Whether it’s working to get new skate parks built, raising funds for those in need, doing food drives, or other community-focused initiatives, we work together to build up and unify. The Atlas x adidas “Community First” project highlights key groups in the community that we align with, and collaborate with that are making a real difference.”

Made from eco-friendly materials, the NorCal imprint dresses the silhouette in a tonal court-inspired colorway. “Cloud White” leather uppers encapsulate the release with a clean finish. adidas’ customary Three Stripes branding hits the medials, while geometrical “Court Green” accents adorn the heel counters and extend into the interior quarters.

“Skateboarding is a sport where your sneakers are constantly being torn into and destroyed,” Myles Thompson, one of the designers who worked on the kicks, told Hypebeast. “It was important for us to bring materials into the shoe that could be durable even if it was made from non-new materials. The idea of breaking something down, building it, and then breaking it down again through a new use became interesting to me. Outside of the environmental aspects, we also wanted to pay homage to how projects like Town Park and The City Eats help sustain the community through their everyday practices.”

Slanted Atlas lettering lands below the ankles, sitting beside orange windows with a canvas filling. adidas’ classic Trefoil emblem is placed on green tongue tags, while co-branded insoles and board-ready Adiprene liners complete the design stacked on re-ground gum outsoles.

Building on its “Community First” slogan, Atlas delivers its collaborative sneaker inside pixelated green boxing stamped with dual logos and its endearing catchphrase.

Take a closer look at the Atlas x adidas Forum 84 ADV collaboration in the gallery above. The sneaker is scheduled to drop via adidas, Atlas, and select retailers on March 18 for $110 USD. Additionally, City Eats, All In SF, SF Skate Club, and Town Park Oakland will gather together for a special launch event in the Mission District of San Francisco.

Elsewhere, three new Sporty & Rich x adidas Samba colorways are coming soon.
