Under Armour has announced an innovative new sneaker that will redefine the future of training — it’s a shoe made to move with the wearer, adapt to their needs, and support them wherever they go. From tough workouts in the gym, to the court, or even the grocery store, the Under Armour SlipSpeed™ is all about versatility and reliability for the everyday athlete.

From high-intensity training to recovery, the SlipSpeed™’s transformative nature allows athletes to perform better and even get to rest mode faster with literally a simple step. After any grueling workout, the wearer can simply step through and flatten the sneaker’s convertible, “crushable” heel, to go from practice to leisure time within seconds. Then, when it’s time to work out again, the heel can fully function once more to fit snug around the ankles for a secure fit. Gone are the days of having to fiddle with laces and possibly damaging sneakers by crushing their ankle panels repeatedly.

The SlipSpeed™’s innovative design completely transforms the fitness experience, allowing for all-day wear and fast-paced lifestyles. Along with a convertible heel, the signature UA Flow foam compound is employed for resistance and prolonged comfort, Iso-Chill technologies keep the inside of the shoe cool with every movement, and the adjustable BOA® Fit System allows the shoe to be tightened to brace for difficult repetitions or loosened for casual wear, on a 12-point lockdown scale.

Other key innovations include a breathable upper that has reinforced supportive material with engineered venting, UA Flow foam to improve traction, and giving the sneakers even more of an edge in the training world, they are machine-washable as well, conforming to the on-the-go routine with ease. “When I received my first pair of UA SlipSpeed™, I was excited to have a shoe that could take me from a hard workout in the gym to running errands with the kids without the need to bring another pair of shoes along,” says Michael Phelps, World Champion Swimmer and Under Armour athlete.

To create this game-changing silhouette, Under Armour and its product team drew upon their product expertise, athlete recommendations and insights, and personal athletic experiences. “What we have created with UA SlipSpeed™ is a trainer that not only adjusts to fit your specific footwear needs any time of the day but also still packs in some of our biggest performance innovations like UA Flow and UA Iso-Chill for optimum training,” shared Marcus Cheatham, Director of Product, Special Teams, Under Armour.

The UA SlipSpeed (#UASlipSpeed) launches in Canada on February 14, 2023 on UA.ca for $190.
