Bandai Namco is Set to Take Over Sega's Iconic Akihabara Location
A new arcade for the shopping hub in Tokyo.
While many were saddened by the closure of Sega‘s big arcades in Akihabara, those looking to make a gaming trip to the shopping hub in Tokyo will be happy to learn Bandai Namco is now set to fill the void. Back in 2020 Sega closed locations and rebranded its arcade business, the shift saw the closure of the iconic Sega Akihabara Arcade Building 4, but now Bandai Namco will be taking over the space next month.
The reopening will see a new arcade filled with Bandai Namco games like Tekken and Mario Kart Arcade, along with a series of themed stores. Included in the mix is a dedicated space for claw machines, a trading card specialty store, and a capsule toy space.
Aside from the new Bandai Namco location opening next month, those visiting Akihabara can still visit Sega Akihabara Arcade Building 1 and other Sega arcades now re-branded under the Gigo banner.
