At New York Comic Con on Thursday, Toei Animation announced that an all-new Dragon Ball series, titled Dragon Ball Daima, is set to release this fall.
The studio revealed the news alongside a short teaser for the upcoming show, which features Goku, Vegeta, Bulma and several other memorable components from the Dragon Ball universe. The series will be illustrated by the anime’s creator, Akira Toriyama, and it will tell an original story that has “never been told in Dragon Ball,” per the trailer.
Notably, during the series’ Comic Con panel, Daima‘s executive producer Akio Iyoku said that Toriyama is “deeply involved beyond his usual capacity” in the upcoming series, adding that he has “planned entirely new episodes for the storyline.”
Official details on the plot, including the series’ timeline, are not available at this time. The preview does, however, show Goku being transformed into a child, shortly after Shenron says, “Now, state your wish.” Additionally, the sneak peek offers glimpses of additional characters, including Chi Chi, Pamput, Krillin, Piccolo and Shin.
