Following the release of her second studio album, Falling Or Flying, Walsall-born singer Jorja Smith has just taken to BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge as part of the station’s “Live Lounge Month” series.

Choosing to cover Harry Styles’ hit record “As It Was” for her performance — the lead single from Styles’ third full-length LP, Harry’s House — Smith said: “I keep hearing it. I find it hard sometimes to do a cover — it needs to be a song that I know even though I’ve definitely got the lyrics in front of me. But this one I’ve been hearing a lot and I thought, ‘Oh, this will be really nice.’ It’s a bit more toned down…”

Smith and her live band then delivered a stripped-back and soulful rendition of “As It Was,” before performing her two-step-worthy 2022 single, “Little Things.”

You can check out the performance of “As It Was” above and her “Little Things” rendition is below.
