Anok Yai Graces Acne Studios’ Latest FW23 Campaign
Diving into a mystical landscape.
Acne Studios has been in the market for beautifully captured campaigns for the Fall/Winter 2023 season. This past August, the Stockholm-based brand enlisted businesswoman/reality TV star Kylie Jenner for its FW23 Denim Campaign. Now the brand has turned to Anok Yai, who has been galvanizing the current model landscape, for its new FW23 campaign.
Shot by brand friend Carlijn Jacobs, the new visuals dive into a mystical landscape that inspires the wonder and curiosity of enchantment. From a smoking black sand beach to a pool of pistachio green water, the fantastical environment was crafted by David White, who derived inspiration from the fantasy forest set of the Acne Studios FW23 runway show. In it, the New York-based, South Sudanese model reveals selections from the new collection.
“With this collection I was thinking about the dark winters we have in Sweden, where there are only few hours of daylight. I wanted to capture the beauty of the darkness in both the collection and set,” said Acne Studios creative director, Johhny Johansson. “Sweden is the kind of place where the city ends abruptly and then the pine forest begins.”
Pictures garments include a sheer neon pink layered two-piece set, distressed leather pieces, a textured gray asymmetrically cut top, a moss green knit dress and the brand’s new Multipocket bag.
