Snøhetta Unveils Sanctuary-Like Clubhouses for a Residential Complex in Hong Kong
Comprising a Tea House, Farm House, and Sky House.

Multidisciplinary design firm Snøhetta was tasked with designing clubhouses for the Pavilia Farm residential development in Tai Wai, Hong Kong. Commissioned by New World Development, the project spans three clubhouses – the Tea House, Farm House, and the Sky House – that will provide a dose of greenery and escapism for residents who have acclimatized to the bustling city life.
Speaking on the project, Snøhetta Asia’s partner and managing director, Robert Greenwood explained that “Pavilia Farm is a project that highlights the importance of creating new green, urban neighborhoods.” As more people reside in cities than ever before, Snøhetta hopes to provide a sense of calm and wholesomeness to city-dwellers with nature-integrated spaces. He elaborated on the clubhouses as “A space where all the residents can find peace and calm, but also interact and connect with each other.”
An inseparable component of the Tea House is water, specifically the sound of falling water, where a pool is housed, while a waterfall is featured on its exterior. Moving onto the outdoor space, the Farm House is surrounded by an urban farm and equipped with kitchens and dining tables — manifesting a farm-to-table communal dining design philosophy.
Among the three clubhouses, the Tea House and Farm House are now complete and have recently opened. Meanwhile, the Sky House is expected to be ready by the end of 2023. Preview the two completed Pavilia Farm clubhouses in the gallery above.
