Following its Summer 2022 “Rituals” capsule, Sundae School has returned with a new Fall 2022 release. Dubbed ” Back to School,” the latest capsule collection serves as a reintroduction to the brand’s smoke wear roots. Taking a look at its design history, the range spotlights the defining crisp tailoring and contrasting color that rejects structure.

Sundae School brought back Design Director, Jonathan Lee, responsible for some of the label’s signature releases, to create silhouettes that nod back to their roots. He explains that the team “drew inspiration from Sundae School’s concept of ‘Higher Education’ and incorporated pieces that all types of students would wear, with a Sundae School twist.”

“Sundae School started out as a silhouette-centric, Korean-American smoke wear brand,” says Creative Director, Dae Lim. “When the pandemic hit, we adapted by integrating more cozy fits and expanding our graphics. Now with Jonathan back on the team, we’re returning to the roots of the brand and are excited to celebrate our cultural heritage with elevated pieces.”

The Fall 2022 “Back to School” capsule collection is defined by artful cutouts and strategic draping that reflect a utilitarian perspective. Sundae School looked towards putting its twist on established styles, adapting them under its smoke wear understanding for modern city life. Standout items include a back pleat bomber, fencing vest, and hanbok button pants.

Priced between $69 and $666 USD, the Fall 2022 “Back to School” capsule collection will be released throughout the month with the first drop going live on Sundae School’s website September 15, 4:20 p.m. EDT.
