Our Legacy Presents Fall 2022 Tailoring, But Not As You Know It

Formal menswear doesn’t come straight to mind when you think of the contemporary Swedish label Our Legacy — instead, it’s Stüssy collaborations, minimalistic essentials, and WORK SHOP garments for everyday attire. However, earlier collections have gone on to inform much of what makes Our Legacy the brand it is today, and that’s a trustworthy, reliable imprint known for delivering fool-proof pieces that can transcend traditional norms, in turn creating formalwear that’s perfect worn in the office or dialed down with a pair of Converse and a white WORK SHOP T-shirt.

With that in mind, Our Legacy has launched its Fall 2022 tailoring capsule, self-assessed as “an alternative take on formalwear.” Here, we find various jackets, trousers and shirts each made from upcycled fabrics sourced from Italian mills, and everything follows the label’s signature aesthetic appeal — relaxed.

A Welding Jacket in “Camel” twill wool is served long-line, with its buttons finishing three-quarters of the way down for that easy look and feel. Likewise, layering elements like the “Blue Gingham” Popover Shirt feature only three top buttons, making it a piece that’s still formal yet injected with the architecture of pajamas.

Sailor Trousers, only available in “Moss Green” micron wool, are darted down the middle of each leg with a full-length pleat, elongating the leg of its wearer. Matching with the Pioneer Jacket, and you have a full suit — only here, Our Legacy’s jacket is closer to a field jacket or something inspired by military gear, as opposed to traditional tailoring cues.

Our Legacy’s Fall 2022 tailoring capsule can be seen in the Isak Berglund Mattson-Mårn-shot lookbook above, and is available to buy from Our Legacy’s website and stores now.
