Following the reveal of its FW22 denim project captured by Ronan McKenzie, Acne Studios is joining forces with NYC-based artist Jessi Reaves for an accessories range emblazoned with her recognizable upcycled technique. Melding together concepts from furniture and sculptural practices, McKenzie’s artwork resemble dated thrift finds reimagined in a contemporary fashion.

Undoubtedly authentic, the artist’s collaboration with Acne Studios delivers a refreshed take on classic jewelry styles, including necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, alongside select home goods. The charming accessories have been crafted in premium sterling silver, enhanced with charm-like detailing inspired by found objects. In addition, bracelets feature silhouettes of shoes, from classic heeled Mary Janes to sophisticated loafers with a laceless finish.

Singular earrings see parallel pendants, made to elevate any outfit when out on the town. Square-cut necklaces are accented with linear perforations, while strands of silver hang from the sides. The pendant is suspended by a utilitarian clasp secured to a thin chain and embellished with delicate diamond-shaped decor.

The range also sees reimagined blankets and cushions constructed with a patchwork design. Inspired by dated quilts found in grandma’s house, the plush offerings are adorned with distorted patterns for a handmade feel. Pillows have been cut into hearts, featuring plaid ruffles at the edges, a tan base and contrasting fabrics throughout. The same style is also delivered in square form, while a matching blanket completes the intimate collaboration.

Speaking about the collection, Jessi Reaves says:

“I worked on these pieces in the same way I work on anything, searching for something that feels right without exactly knowing why, continuing to complicate the object until it satisfies me or leads to another way of seeing.”

The Acne Studios x Jessi Reaves jewelry capsule collection is available to shop now via the Acne Studios website and retail locations worldwide.

Elsewhere, Gucci’s SS23 “Twinsburg” show will have you seeing double.
