Back in 2010, Kanye West was dating Amber Rose and was known for pulling outfits draped in luxury labels such as Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin and Givenchy, often decorating himself with accessories from the heritage luggage house Goyard. But for Ye, owning a piece of Goyard — which is rare in itself — wasn’t enough, so he commissioned the house’s very first Goyard backpack, dubbed “Robot Face.” Since, it has exchanged hands and sold for $55,000 USD in 2021 courtesy of the luxury consigner Justin Reed, and now Reed has it back in his possession, listing the piece for a staggering $100,000 USD.

Ye bought the 1-of-1 piece during the 2010 Paris Fashion Week, which was around the same time he followed up on 2007’s Graduation and 2008’s 808s & Heartbreak with arguably his greatest album to date, 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The bag features Kanye-designed details that perfectly encapsulate the man he was at the time, one pushing his sounds forward and championing creativity in the industry.

Likewise, the “Robot Face” Goyard features three pockets on the front that are intelligently worked with zippers and the Goyard Chevron monogram to create facial features, sitting alongside a hand-painted “K” and star emblem on the bottom right corner. All the typical Goyard features remain, from silver-toned hardware to tan straps and a canvas interior, only here it appears in a rare shade of yellow alongside tan leather components.

Per Justin Reed, the bag is in “excellent overall condition. The interior shows minor marks and the exterior is near perfect condition.”

Take a look at the bag above, and head over to Justin Reed’s website to cop the piece for $100,000 USD.
