Stampd Taps into '90s Nostalgia with Graphic LA Counterculture Capsule
Drawing references from the LA Kings and Raiders.

Stampd has never shied away from its affinity for early ‘90s fashion, a definitive era that birthed grunge and anarchist bangers from N.W.A. Respectively, the all-new LA Counterculture capsule introduces a black-and-silver theme, accentuated by distorted graphics and gothic typography. The collection references ‘90s pop culture, drawing influences from the Oakland Raiders, the LA Kings, hip-hop and football fandom.
If the act of defiance moves culture forward, Stampd’s take on counterculture pays homage to radical art and West Coast legacies reverberating in LA and beyond. Across the selection of T-shirts, long-sleeves, hoodies, crewnecks and jerseys, Stampd hones its graphic design language with edgy, textural accents, like spiked gothic typography and an inky, zebra print with feathered detailing. The LA-centric range reps the bad boys of the NFL, the Oakland Raiders, and incorporates a black-and-silver palette in honor of the team’s rowdy fanbase.
Highlighted in the collection is an all-black crewneck with Stampd branding, which showcases a new conceptual drip effect with graphic lettering that lightly disperses like a liquid emulsion. The black monochrome long-sleeve features an illustration of Chris Stamp’s dog, Baxter, paired with barbed wire detailing at the sleeves. Soft-touch flannel and terry basics seamlessly transition through the season and reference nostalgic So-Cal culture — pep rally gatherings and late nights spent socializing on the bleachers post-game. Like many Stampd collections, graffiti-like overlays reference the city’s distinguished murals and fearless communities of creatives rallying to the fore.
Rounding out the capsule is an oversize hockey jersey with colorblocked paneling and gothic lettering at the front. Select pieces mix and match with streetwear staples like baggy sweatpants, but the collection also speaks to LA’s appreciation for stylized workwear and understated minimalism. Stampd taps into LA’s ever-evolving youth culture while celebrating the city’s original rebels who paved new territory, ushering in radical expression in art, music and design.
