Art has always been an integral part of skateboarding. Both in terms of style, along with the graphics overlaid on decks. Since 2014, The Skateroom has fused these two worlds by bringing together a cast of iconic and emerging artists across triptych sets that are perfect for skating or hanging on the wall.

For the first time, The Skateroom ventured to Italy for a new exhibition of work at .Sept Showroom in Milan. From Jean-Michel Basquiat to Yoshitomo Nara, Paul McCarthy to Andy Warhol, the show presented a series of decks from the many artist foundations that the organization has worked with.

Having concluded on June 1, the exhibition marked the start of a fruitful partnership between the two sides. Founded in 2020 by Tommaso Bontempi, Niccolò Piubello and Stefano Pizzamiglio, .Sept Showroom aims to constantly innovate the conversation around the worlds of fashion and streetwear. As the official Italian partner of The Skateroom, the two forces look to empower international skate and education nonprofits, by actively working to improve sustainability and transparency in their work. 10% of all revenue sold at the show, along with decks on the website will go directly to creating social change.

In related news, HYPEBEAST recently spoke to Mark Gonzales about his creative process.
