Putting on an over-the-top display for Paris Fashion Week, Homme Plissé Issey Miyake‘s Spring/Summer 2023 collection showcased the freedom of movement. Developing a wide-ranging show of athletic models and acrobatic dancers from the Chaillot Theatre National de la Danse for a mix of runway presentation and acrobatic event.
Dressed in the latest Homme Plissé Issey Miyake designs, the models and dancers further conveyed the libration in dress provided by designer Issey Miyake‘s signature pleating. An array of colors and a choice set of patterns were displayed on the lightweight, comfortable, wrinkle-resistant wares, sharing the new looks conceived to enliven everyday living.
Remaining true to its clean design aesthetic and menswear ethos, the SS23 collection played with the angle of hems, adjustable length and unique splitting constructions. Shapes provided manipulated forms that continued to deliver the function derived from the research behind pleating done by Miyake and his team.
