Chlöe Delivers Sultry New Track and Video "Surprise"

Chlöe —otherwise known as Chlöe Bailey and one-half of the sister duo Chloe x Halle — has dropped off her latest single, “Suprise,” alongside a Diana Kunst-directed music video.
Building on a slower tempo, “Surprise” sees the chart-topper tease a love interest with sultry lyrics, setting expectations for their relationship and detailing what could become of it. The accompanying video supplements the track’s message with a slew of intimate scenes between Chlöe and a man, all of which are ultimately made up in the love interest’s mind.
“If you be good to me then I’ma be great to you / If you stay down for me then I’ll stay awake for you,” she sings on the R&B-leaning song. “Surprise (Surprise), slip my panties to the side / Give me your money, baby, I’ll make it rain for you.”
“Surprise” marks Chlöe’s third solo track, following the release of her last bop, “Treat Me,” which sampled Bubba Sparxxx and the Ying Yang Twins’ 2005 hit “Ms. New Booty,” in April, and “Have Mercy” in September. The 23-year-old artist has previously performed “Have Mercy” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as at the American Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards. Chlöe has not yet disclosed plans for a debut solo album.
