The Armoury To Allocate Naoya Hida & Co "Lettercutter" Limited Edition by Lottery
The retailer’s co-founder selected the unique typeface and lacquer color.
Japanese independent watchmaker Naoya Hida & Co. has revealed five new watches for 2022, including an exclusive limited edition for retailer, The Armoury.
The NH Type 2C-1 “Lettercutter” – based on the brand’s 37mm stainless steel NH Type 2C – has been created in collaboration with The Armoury co-founder Mark Cho, who selected the distinctive “Lettercutter” typeface for its Arabic numeral hour markers. The engraved numerals are then infilled with dark blue lacquer, setting it apart from other NH Type 2C’s which use black lacquer.
The name of the retailer is also engraved on the dial at the six o’clock position. Inside is a manual wind Cal.3020CS movement, based on a heavily modified Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement. Just 10 pieces of the NH Type 2C-1 “Lettercutter” will be produced in 2022.
The watches will be made available through The Armoury via an allocation lottery starting on May 26 and closing on June 6, with winners being notified in mid-June, priced JPY 2,530,000 (approximately $19,560 USD).
