New Balance Adds Hiking Boot Elements to This 2002R Colorway
The kicks come bolstered with Toe Protect reinforcements and metal eye rings.
Since the New Balance 2002R thrusted itself back into the limelight thanks to its “Peace Be the Journey” collaboration with Salehe Bembury back in 2020, the silhouette has been churned out in an abundance of new colorways. Most have been purposefully produced for lifestyle usage, but this forthcoming iteration has been enhanced with various elements that make it fit for hiking trails.
The overall palette speaks to traditional trail-centric boots as it comes designed with deep brown leather overlays and rough canvas forefoot panels, navy blue collars, yellow tongue branding and forest green accents that outline the N logos. In terms of hiker-friendly attachments, the front has been supported with a Toe Protect reinforcement and the metal eyelets have been planted onto the throat. Additionally, the laces have been switched to rope form to further expand upon its trail motif. Down below, the midsoles arrive with a stealthy paint job and exposed cushioning foam towards the rear is styled in red and green.
