Moon Knight‘s director Mohamed Diab has teased that the ending to the Marvel series will leave fans feeling surprise yet satisfied.

The series follows protagonist Steven Grant, played by Oscar Isaac. Grant appears to be a regular gift shop employee by day, but soon finds the real reason why his life is so chaotic despite living a relatively normal life. The series is based on the Marvel comic by the same name, which dates back to 1975. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Diab calls Isaac’s performance “unbelievable” as he explores his character’s Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). He adds, “The difference between Marc and Steven is so huge, yet they’re so similar. He did a fantastic job developing those characters, and when he inhabited the two, they’re completely different. He made them his own.” Diab also mentioned that when tackling the portrayal of someone with DID, he admits that he was “not educated enough” about the disorder. He said, “We know about the multiple identities, but I never knew why. Through episode 5, you understand that usually people who have DID are traumatized when they’re kids, and they create a character that can overcome their fear or shield themselves from their fear. They create a character that didn’t go through that trauma.”

In regards to the finale, Diab teased fans that the ending was indeed a “satisfying wrap-up.” He continued, “There are some surprises. I think the audience deserves a big action sequence, but it’s more than that. It has some twists and turns, and I really feel like it\’s a satisfying ending to our journey.

The Moon Knight series is expected to end on May 4 on Disney+.
