Netflix teases the release of its new Russo Brothers film with the official first look images of the upcoming The Gray Man. The film features a star-studded cast including Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Regé-Jean Page.

The film, which is based on Mark Greaney’s book series by the same name, steps away from the average spy thriller storyline. The Gray Man is reportedly Netflix’s most expensive film to date, featuring a budget of over $200 million USD. Gosling plays the protagonist Court Gentry, a CIA black ops mercenary who set off on a global manhunt to uncover incriminating information regarding the agency. He later discovers that Evans’ character Lloyd Hansen, who is Gentry’s former colleague and head is the one to blame. Tensions arise between the two as both go head-to-head in an action-packed sequence. De Armas portrays CIA agent Dani Miranda while Page plays CIA official Carmichael.

Anthony Russo recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about their venture into the spy thriller genre pinpointing, “We’re big fans of the spy genre, and we’re always looking for ways of how to twist it, or supercharge it, or push it into areas that feel fresh. There was a great idea at the center of this book, where it’s not just about being a spy, but being the most extreme version of one, where you have to hide your own identity — and yourself.”

Filming for The Gray Man began last March and is expected to release later this year. The film is expected to hit theaters for a limited time only on July 15 and will premiere on Netflix on July 22. Take a look at the first look images above.

In other entertainment news, Bad Bunny has been cast as El Muerto in Sony and Marvel’s upcoming film.
