Watch This Iron Chef Turn Instant Noodles Into a Gourmet Meal Once Again
A truly artistic creation made with the $0.99 USD noodles.
After reimagining Chipotle, YouTuber Jet Bent-Lee tasked his father Susur Lee of Top Chef Canda and Food Network‘s Iron Chef America fame to turn instant noodles into a gourmet meal once again.
Fueled by his eclectic culinary style described as “fusion cuisine,” Susur soaked the noodles to create a dough to form sheets that he cut out into circles. The circles were then used to crust a piece of salmon to replicate the fish’s scales after being pan-fried. A scallop mouse was also rolled into a noodle dough sheet colored with squid ink and steamed. The seafood forward dish was plated with an array of sauces, coulis and mashes and accompanied by salmon skin chicharrones, mussels and hibiscus flowers.
