For his eighth season of designing menswear, Keith Herron titled his FW22 Advisry collection “Sometimes Dancing” – a missive to the consistent struggles that plague the African-American community.

Herron sent models down the runway wearing earth-toned wool suits, checkerboard-print windbreakers, and leather travel bags. Knitwear – in varying shapes and sizes – was also on prominent display and included full-zip cardigans, graphic-print sleeveless vests, and open-weave sweaters.

Runway standouts encompassed an “American Hero” blanket – styled into a poncho – depicting imagery of Muhammad Ali, a grey slouch-fit two-piece suit, graffiti spray-painted sets, and a “Reparations” knit top.

Describing the collection’s intricate detailing and cultural significance, Herron says, “I wanted to pivot and show the most important facet of Black culture – finding joy in the midst of chaos.”

“More than half of the products were produced in New York City, so it was a more hands-on experience than anything else I had done prior,” he added.

Appreciation for the label’s conscious craftsmanship was reflected in the audience attendees, who included NLE Choppa, Kari Faux, and Tyler Mitchell.

Further information on Herron and his brand can be found on Advisry’s website.

Meanwhile, APOTTS dedicated its FW22 Collection to “Skinfolk” as part of New York Men’s Day.
