BEAMS T x RAMIDUS x Diaspora Capsule Preps for a Post-Apocalyptic World

BEAMS T x RAMIDUS x Diaspora Skateboards launch a three-piece capsule designed to navigate various weather conditions. The collection pays homage to the subversive street style in Harajuku, Tokyo.

The collection aligns itself with the rise of “survivalism” in luxury fashion — a coin termed by Lucas Mascatello during the pandemic in response to rapidly changing consumer habits and psychology — through a three-piece, dystopian-approved capsule merging street style with functional silhouettes. Consumers across the globe are reshaping their values, curating wardrobes highly attuned to their lifestyles. BEAMS T x RAMIDUS x Diaspora seizes this new wave of luxury fashion with thermo-regulating garments designed to tackle day-to-evening adventures.

The environment-minded silhouettes were born under the theme, “Day Adjustment,” a philosophy that utilizes RAMIDUS’ water-resistant nylon shell as the base of its packable silhouettes. A highlight of the collection is a half-zip cargo anorak that doubles in functionality as a messenger bag. When worn as a jacket, two oversize pockets rest at the front panel with RAMIDUS’ branded cloth patch on the right pocket, Diaspora Skateboards’ recognizable mystical circle motif on the left, and adjustable drawstrings along the hem for a cropped fit.

The matching jacket and cargo pants, clad in black and khaki colorways, encapsulate elements of militaria — a theme consistently reworked amongst all three brands throughout the years. The capsule riffs on the current rise of post-apocalyptic fashion and incorporates design elements used in combat gear. The sweatshirt features a crew neck, accented by RAMIDUS’ utilitarian pocket detailing at the front with BEAMS’ stylized typography at the shoulders on the back panel.
