Following the public back and forth between fast-fashion retailer H&M and Justin Bieber, the retailer has officially pulled the collaborative collection from its shelves. The news comes just less than 24 hours after the brand stated it would continue to sell the collection, despite Bieber criticizing the designs online, even urging his fans to not purchase the style because he did not approve of them. H&M has now reversed its claim and will stop selling the particular pieces.

Earlier this week, Justin Bieber posted to his Instagram Stories that he has not approved any of the H&M collections put forward. He wrote to his 270 million Instagram followers, “All without my permission and approval. I wouldn’t buy it if I were you.” He also added, “H&M merch they made of me is trash and I didn’t approve it. Don’t buy it.” In a statement to WWD, the fast-fashion chain said on Monday that, “as with other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval and procedures.” At the time, H&M said they would continue to sell the merch since, “we need to look into this more to understand before we take action.”

The day after, H&M had already changed its tune providing yet another statement to WWD confirming the removal of the merch collection, “As mentioned in our previous statement, H&M has followed proper approval procedures. Out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber, we have removed the garments from our stores and online.” The collection featured a dress, sweatshirt, t-shirt and tote bag all featuring an image of Bieber himself and a phone case and a $40 USD hoodie featuring the lyrics, “I miss you more than life” from his track, “Ghost.”

Bieber worked alongside H&M to release a “Stadium Tour” collaboration in 2017 which included various hoodies, t-shirts, bomber jackets, sweatpants and more. Bieber has not responded to the removal of the collection just yet.

In case you missed it, newly released court documents revealed that Nike employees allege a culture of sexism, bullying and fear of retaliation.
