Birkenstock has just presented a new collection for Fall/Winter 2022 and it features California-based artist Vince Skelly as he unveils new iterations of the brand’s Arizona and Boston models.

As a whole, Birkenstock consistently stays aligned with its core mantras of merging functionality with quality and comfort. And for the Arizona, the sandal is designed with a cork-latex footbed, while the EVA sole is complemented with two straps that run across the foot’s upper that come with metal pin buckles for adjustability. Furthermore, the Boston model is crafted with a soft footbed which features a cozy foam layer. Additionally, the upper is made out of soft suede which is designed to hug the foot.

The Vince Skelly campaign also tells the story of where the artist grew up: Claremont, California. The city is rooted in mid-century design and has been a consistent attraction for various artists from fashion designers, architects, and painters alike. Speaking about the new campaign, Skelly said: I’m very much influenced by mid-century design, but in a way that a caveman would have made it.”

You can take a closer look at the new collection from Birkenstock above and it will be available on the brand’s official website and with select retailers from December 16.
