For Vans, its Vault by Vans line continues to offer a blend of fresh looks alongside retro ones. Connecting with a wide variety of collaborators, the elevated division sees its latest project led by Japanese label NEEDLES. The two are no strangers as recent years have featured various releases from the duo, including 2018’s velvet-covered Slip-Ons.

In their latest collaboration, Vans’ iconic Era and Slip-On silhouettes have come together to create a two-in-one sneaker. Tapping into NEEDLES’ adoration for asymmetry, the right shoe favors the Slip-On style while the left is laced up in the typical Era presentation. Landing in “Taupe” and “Black” colorways, both pairs offer a minimalist yet unique approach. A rough suede outfits each upper while Vans’ ULTRACUSH-infused collaborative sockliner provides comfort underneath.

Release for this hybrid sneaker from NEEDLES and Vault by Vans is scheduled for November 25 at 11am JST via Nepenthes. Both colorways are priced at ¥15,400 JPY (approx. $111 USD).
