Specialized Introduces New Rider-First Gravel Bike, the Diverge STR
With front and rear Future Shock suspension.
Specialized has unveiled the all-new Diverge STR, a gravel bike built with front and rear Future Shock for maximized control and efficiency.
Future Shock technology suspends the rider — not the bike — with the intention of decreasing fatigue and promoting father and faster riding over difficult terrains. Rid of the slow pedal response, and all inefficient suspension systems for that matter, the Diverge STR is constructed with SRAM’s Red eTap AXS Eagle groupset, which supplies quick shifting through a 10-50 cassette. Additionally, a Quarq power meter helps riders execute shifting effectively and efficiently.
The bike rides with lighter Roval Terra CLX II wheels with 42mm Tracer Pro tires, which feature tire clearance of 47mm on a 700c wheel and 2.1” on 650B. Completing the package, the Diverge STR boasts Terra carbon bars, an S-Works carbon seatpost and S-Works Power with Mirror Saddle. Notably, the S-Works Diverge STR FACT 11r carbon frame is the brand’s most compliant to date, while still adding 100 grams compared to the S-Works Diverge frame.
The Specialized Diverge STR is available in six sizes that range from 46cm to 61cm, with three models: the Diverge STR Expert, which is priced at $7,500 USD, the Diverge STR Pro, which costs $9,500 USD, and the S-Works Diverge STR, which is listed for $14,000 USD. The Diverge STR frameset costs $6,000 USD, and all of the aforementioned models are available on the brand’s website.
