illy Opens the Doors on Its Restyled Flagship Milan Cafe
Found in the heart of the Italian city’s fashion district.

Coffee brand illy has opened the doors of its restyled flagship café in Milan.
Designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS, illycaffè at 19 Via Monte Napoleone is situated at the heart of the city’s Via Montenapoleone fashion district.
Architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel have created “a multi-sensory experience to help the discover the illy universe” through the use of the brand’s favored shade of red and “the iconic, decorative and communicative elements that shine a spotlight on the world of coffee.”
The mechanical nature of coffee-making is tempered through the use of natural materials such as coffee-toned wood, while its Milanese location is evident in the hand-worked terrazzo floors and recycled glass mosaic tiles. As well as offering interior space, illycaffè features a courtyard exterior with oak benches.
Two rooms are also dedicated to the illy Art Collection, displaying some of the many pieces created by some of the most famous contemporary artists since 1992.
“A meeting point for all lovers of taste and art,” says Antonio Citterio. “The flagship store offers rich and diversified services at any time of the day. Coffee, as the absolute protagonist, meets the Italian tradition of catering, its refinement and high-quality of preparations.”
