King Nerd and @misterenthusiast Take To the Skies for Rolex Air King Dogfight
The pair’s second Rolex-based customization.

Designer and engraver King Nerd and collector @misterenthusiast have come together for a second Rolex-based collaboration.
The pairing of two “geezers from England” along with Rolex’s Air King model lead to a decision to depict “an epic World War Two dogfight between two epic rival planes-the Super Marine Spitfire and the Messerschmitt ME 109” with the German plane getting “the full lead buffet.”
The pair used a custom aluminum dial blank – in a further aeronautical nod – in a modern 40mm Rolex Air King Ref 116900 to take King Nerd aka Johnny Dowell’s hand engraved scene.
The Rolex hands have been skeletonized and the steel bracelet replaced with a green Cordura strap, although it is included with the watch inside supplied the custom Alcantara packaging.
The pair previously collaborated on a customized Rolex Submariner featuring the engraved scene of a diver battling an octopus.
Only six pieces are being made and the pair are taking orders now on Instagram @kingnerd and @misterenthusiast, priced $19,200 USD.
