Gagosian Will Open a Third Gallery Near Paris’ Place VendômeDoors open on October 19.
Gagosian currently bolsters 17 exhibition spaces around the world and will open yet another in the heart of the French capital. Located in Paris’ 1st arrondissement, the new exhibition space will be in close proximity to the expansive Place Vendôme, which is roughly a 15-minute walk from the Louvre.
In a statement regarding the news, founder Larry Gagosian admired Paris as an “important center for modern and contemporary art.” One that will “bring a new dimension to Gagosian’s presence there, while complementing the important efforts of museums and foundations in the City of Lights,” he added.
The upcoming Gagosian is located in the former Hotel Lotti, a historic space that was first built in 1910. For the inaugural exhibition, the gallery will feature the work of the legendary Alexander Calder — whose sculpture, Flying Dragon (1975), will be installed at Place Vendôme for the upcoming FIAC Hors les Murs.
The Gagosian’s third Parisian location will open to the public on October 19.
Across the channel, HOFA Gallery will present the world’s most valuable NFT exhibition.
