British brand Christopher Ward has added an environmentally focused new model to its C60 collection of dive watches using recycled ocean plastics.

Expanding on last year’s release of a strap produced in partnership with #tide SA, a Swiss company that collects and recycles ocean plastics as yarn or granules for injection molding, the new C60 #tide dive watch features the #tide hashtag on its crown and caseback, both surrounded by rings of recycled blue #tide plastic.

“We worked with #tide last year to create a one-off strap for the C60 BLUE – the sell-out limited edition dive watch we created for the Blue Marine Foundation. The fantastic success of that watch taught us two important things: our team is inspired by environmental concerns, and our customers want to see us do more with eco materials”, says Mike France, Christopher Ward’s CEO.

The 42mm stainless steel C60 #tide has a sapphire crystal dial is etched with a 3D wave pattern printed with Super-LumiNova’s brightest, Grade X1 BL C1.

Water resistant to 600m, the C60 #tide houses a Sellita SW200 COSC automatic movement and is sold in 95% bio-degradable packaging. Christopher Ward will also be donating $7 USD (£5 GBP) for each strap sold, either on a watch or individually, to the Blue Marine Foundation charity.

The C60 #tide is available now via Christopher Ward, priced $1,095 USD on a #tide ocean material strap or $1,215 USD on a brushed steel bracelet.
