Patrick Beverley Fined With One-Game Suspension After Shoving Chris Paul
The Clippers PG was also ejected from Game 6 of the conference finals against the Phoenix Suns.
The NBA has fined Patrick Beverley with a one-game suspension after he shoved Chris Paul during Game 6 of the conference finals between the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania broke the news on Twitter, sharing, “Clippers guard Patrick Beverley has been suspended one game without pay for an unsportsmanlike act for forcefully pushing Suns guard Chris Paul.” As the Clippers have no more games this season, the suspension will be enforced during Pat Bev’s first game of the 2021-2022 NBA season.
Beverley has already acknowledge his mistake and publicly apologized to the Suns PG. “@CP3 emotions got the best of me last night gang. My bad wasn’t meant for you,” the Clippers guard tweeted. “Congrats on making it to the Finals. Best of Luck.”
The altercation occurred in the fourth quarter, with cameras clearly capturing Beverly pushing CP from behind. This almost resulted in a rumble between the two, however officials managed to pull Bev away before things got more serious. He was then ejected from the game.
