Engineered Garments and Sebago Cobble Together Vibram-Soled Summer Shoes
Collaborative spins on hefty heritage shapes.
Following a recent team-up with Keen, Engineered Garments is serving up more collaborative summer footwear with a new partner. For the first time, the New York-based brand is joining Sebago for a selection of special shoes crafted to EG’s exacting standard.
The appropriately-named Overlap, Zipperdeck and Coverdeck silhouettes are all served in versatile beige or black, with some quirky faux exotic skin patterns for an air of playfulness. All of the styles are further amped up with impactful Vibram EVA sole units, lending comfort and stability while ensuring beefy profiles that befit Engineered Garments’ workwear-indebted ethos.
Cut low for warmer weather, the shoes all sport full grail leather and suede uppers rendered in asymmetric shades with mismatched laces, zippers and easy pull tabs that ensure all of the models are easy to slip on and off. There’s also co-branded insoles and some external tabs that nod to the joint effort without dipping into obvious logos or graphics.
NEPENTHES New York’ website and the brand’s flagship stores for $295 USD – $415 USD.
Plenty of other low-cut leather silhouettes are dropping as the seasons change, including atmos’ Dr. Martens collaboration.
