adidas Spiffs Up the ZX 1000 With Vegetable-Tanned Leather
The classical Three Stripes silhouette gets reimagined with a fashion forward approach.

While it hasn’t necessarily been top of mind for adidas in terms of making it a prolific model, the ZX 1000 is slowly starting to find its footing here in the early stages of 2021. After being reimagined by The Simpsons in a Moe’s Tavern’s “Flaming Moe’s”-inspired colorway, the lifestyle model is now being filtered through a fashion forward lens for its newest vegetable-tanned leather colorway.
On this 80’s era sneaker, the uppers substitute the classic synthetic textile materials for a premium leather fabric, and swathes most of the ground in a clean white. Tongues and the higher heel paneling usher in a teeny bit of neutral-toned contrasting as they are shown with light tan complexions as well as creamy laces. Other accompanying elements to point out include the lateral heel and mid-foot sections, the former of which sports a tonally debossed size tag, while the latter is furnished with the Torsion symbol.
Moving downwards, the Torsion-loaded midsoles are designed to match the shoe strings by also seeing through to “Off White” outers.
For those interested in adding minimal kicks to your rotation, you can find them available now via adidas for $120 USD.
