Nike has built on the recent release of its AlphaFly NEXT% by unveiling its highly-anticipated and much-talked-about Zoom VaporFly NEXT% 2.

The label’s controversial NEXT% line has come under fire on a number of occasions in recent years for its performance-enhancing features, yet it continues to meet all World Athletics regulations. That being the case, Nike returns for 2021 with the silhouette’s second coming ahead of this year’s Olympic games.

Similar aesthetically to the original, the upper and tooling of this second variation have been used with few changes, while the materials used throughout are new or repurposed from other areas of the sneaker.

A see-through “Mint Green” mesh upper has been installed to improve breathability and comfort, while a reinforced toe box and a longer underlying panel increases the space and durability of the forefoot area.

Tongue padding beneath the laces have been borrowed from the AlphaFly silhouette, all of which sits atop the brand’s quintessential lightweight ZoomX outsole, equipped with a full-length carbon fiber plate.

Set for release in the coming months, Nike’s Zoom VaporFly NEXT% 2 will drop via the brand’s online webstore.
