Billie Eilish Performs "Happier Than Ever" and "Male Fantasy" on 'Saturday Night Live'
While also hosting the late-night comedy showcase.
While taking on double duty as both the host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live, Billie Eilish performed a holiday-ready rendition of her chart-topping title track, “Happier Than Ever.”
After Eilish’s parents introduced the performance, the Grammy-winning artist began singing from a backstage location in an oversized black sweater and jeans. As the camera panned through the scene and the set began to open up, it was revealed that Eilish was actually seated before the crowd on-stage. Finneas then pulled out a black electric guitar for the transitional third verse, while large flashing wreaths rang in the holiday spirit.
Eilish also performed “Male Fantasy,” while seated cross-legged next to Finneas on the carpeted stage. With a more straightforward approach, the live rendition highlighted Eilish’s falsetto, while Finneas accompanied her vocals on the guitar.
While appearing on SNL as host, Eilish also performed several comedic skits, including one alongside Kate McKinnon and another in which she depicted a nurse twerking on TikTok, among several others.
Eilish is nominated for seven Grammy Awards in 2022 for her album, Happier Than Ever. The title track alone received four nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. In 2020, Eilish swept the Grammys with the four big awards —Best New Artist, Song, Record and Album of the Year — with her debut studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?.
