XHIBITION and adidas Link Up for Colorful FWY Secant Collaboration
The rich black and purple sneaker was designed to be the “intersection between the trail and the street.”
Cleveland-based boutique XHIBITION and adidas have teamed up for a colorful take on the FYW Secant. Similar in build to adidas Originals‘ FYW XTA save for its retooled lacing system, the FYW Secant was designed to be the “intersection between the trail and the street,” according to XHIBITION — and the collaborative partners are showing off that versatile ethos with a layered build and a striking color scheme.
Dressed almost entirely in black, uppers mix a neoprene and mesh base layer with a large leather overlay. Atop this outer shell sits a suede mudguard and an asymmetrical lacing system that works in pops of steel gray. XHIBITION’s X in purple replaces a standard adidas graphic on the left shoe’s on the left shoe’s tongue, with a duo of pull tabs — black on the tongue, green on the heel — providing easy entry and removal.
Down below, midsoles are made of thick purple EVA foam, encased by a translucent outsole with a rugged traction pattern to lock in the signature Feetyouwear tech. A finishing touch of style is provided by the FYW line’s familiar “Freddie” graphic on the left shoe’s insole.
