U.K.-born, L.A.-based music producer Alexander Grant, best known as Alex da Kid, has launched his first luxury clothing label and new moniker _by.ALEXANDER. His debut collection, called “000 CHANNEL BLACK,” features a mix of one-off pieces and elevated sportswear styles. Actor Gary Busey and model Irina Shayk star in the first editorial campaign, kicking off the launch.

Designed and developed in Los Angeles by Grant himself, the unisex 19-piece collection is full of contrasting details and juxtapositions. Utilitarian elements are paired with feminine ones, while couture-like details accent neutral earth tones. Jersey, french terry and leathers inform the range, with a heavy emphasis on oversized silhouettes and a slouchy look. Key pieces from the collection include a cropped puffer jacket, oversized button-up flannel shirt and cutout pocket jeans.

Inspired by the way that fashion fosters creativity and positively impacts young creatives, _by.ALEXANDER will serve as the center of a multidisciplinary hub that involves young talents across creative disciplines such as music, art and fashion. The new brand showcases not only the role fashion has played in Grant’s life, but the importance of a greater creative vision.

Check out the “000 CHANNEL BLACK” collection above. The items are available to purchase now on _by.ALEXANDER’s website .
