With another week we have yet another installment of our product drops series, this time marked by a host of standout releases. Leading the list is the release of Supreme‘s twelfth Spring/Summer 2020 drop, along with the inaugural release of Palace‘s Summer 2020 collection.

The Week 12 drop from Supreme features a collaboration with the estate of the late Daniel Johnston. The collaborative capsule is centered around original artwork by Johnston and highlights some of his most iconic creations. Comprised of work jackets, hoodies, shirts, T-shirts, work pants and beans, a portion of the proceeds from the Daniel Johnston collaboration will be going to the Hi, How Are You Project and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), non-profit organizations that provide support for youth affected by mental illness.

Notable collaborations this week come in the form of a tracksuit range from END. and NEEDLES, along with PLEASURES latest team-up with The Flaming Lips. Other standouts include Matt McCormick‘s “Eight Miles High” collection and The North Face Urban Exploration‘s “Denali Reimagined” collection. Rounding up this week’s product drops is BAPE indigo-dyed capsule and COMME des GARÇONS‘ limited-edition collection titled “EMERGENCY Special.”

The Flaming Lips x PLEASURES Capsule

Maintaining its connection to music, PLEASURES has teamed up with celebrated band The Flaming Lips for its latest collaborative capsule.

With 17 studio album and a plethora of compilations, celebrated videos and beloved singles, The Flaming Lips have come a long way since its humble beginnings in Oklahoma City back in 1983. Created in close partnership with Warner Music Artist Services, the limited range is centered around The Flaming Lips’ archive of iconic graphic artwork. The hoodie and T-shirts found in the capsule feature the evocative “Drugs Help” collage print and the classic “I drank blood with God” graphic.

END. Clothing x NEEDLES Paisley Collection

Adding to its lineup of its 15th-anniversary collaborations, UK-based retailer END. has partnered with NEEDLES. The capsule features two tracksuits, both of which are centered around variations of a bespoke paisley pattern designed for the collaboration.

The first set in the capsule features an all-over print that covers its premium woven jacquard construction. The second tracksuit sports a more toned down paisley print used as trim on the black high-weighted poly design. Both tracksuits are marked with dual-branded embroidery and a luxury mesh lining.

BAPE Tiger-Shark Indigo-Dyed Capsule Collection

Focussing on denim once again, BAPE has put together yet another capsule centered around indigo dye.

The Summer 2020 range heavily features Tiger and Shark iconography emblazoned on a selection of blue indigo-dyed apparel. Aside from a denim trucker jacket, hoodie, T-shirt and bucket hat, the capsule features a standout jacket that features a split tiger-shark face on the front left chest and a larger print on the back.

COMME des GARÇONS “EMERGENCY Special” Collection

To mark the re-opening of retail stores in France and its reservation program in Japanese outposts, COMME des GARÇONS has released a limited-edition collection titled “EMERGENCY Special.”

The Rei Kawakubo-helmed label has prepared a collection centered around positive phrases, reminding us of the good causes behind staying at home and taking mass social action to combat the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Windbreaker jackets, T-shirts and tote bags have been emblazoned with phrases like “believe in a better tomorrow,” “thinking and doing will result in the future,” and “on to the future, with good energy.” All text prints are presented in a haphazard scrawl, replicating the look of handmade signage.

The North Face Urban Exploration “Denali Reimagined” Capsule Collection

Following its “Lemon” capsule, The North Face has put together its “Denali Reimagined” collection centered around four pieces.

The range is inspired by the brand’s “Denali” fleece jacket, showcasing key design elements from the style applied to new pieces. Bolstered by details that draw from wall-climbing gear, the brand aims to empower “city explorers” through a series of functional garments that are designed with urban life in mind. Standouts include the DWR-treated City D2 Shirt, a short-sleeve style in a lightweight CORDURA®, and the Pocket Tee, which is made from a breathable, sweat-wicking FlashDry™ fabric. Other notables are the Climber Shorts and Pants, which include a detachable chalk bag that can be worn on the waist or as a shoulder sling.

Supreme SS20 Collection Week 12 Release

Keeping its Spring 2020 releases coming, Supreme has now readied the Week 12 drop of its latest seasonal collection. Coming with its latest collaboration, the New York imprint has tapped the estate of the late Daniel Johnston. The collaborative capsule features original artwork by Johnston and highlights some of his most iconic creations.

Jeremiah the Innocent, the frog who graces the album cover of his 1983 album Hi How Are You, can be found on a pair of long-sleeve plaid shirts, work pants, T-shirts and beanies. Supreme also pays homage to Johnston’s endeavors outside of music, including his comic book Space Ducks – An Infinite Comic Book of Musical Greatness and his illustration The Silver Sufferer, with a series of hooded sweatshirts and T-shirts. Rounding up the collaboration are rayon shirts and embroidered work jackets that display more cohesive graphics that exhibit the haunting yet extraordinary artistry of Johnston.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from the Daniel Johnston collaboration will be going to the Hi, How Are You Project and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), non-profit organizations that provide support for youth affected by mental illness.

Accompanying standout garments include the Ripstop Utility Jacket, Small Box Hooded Sweatshirt and Overdyed Longsleeve Top. Other notables are the Filtre Polo, Bevel Text Ringer Tee, Utility Belted Pant, Nails Work Short and similarly decorated Mechanix Original Work Gloves. Headwear options include the Kangol Bermuda Casual Hat and accompanying Spacecap. This week’s boldly branded accessory comes in the form of the repeating print Lawn Chair.

Motifs of Old West figures, skeletons, flowers, and ambitious phrases like “All I Leave Behind Is Only What I Found” are emblazoned on an array of items. Highlight items include a heather grey sweatshirt embellished with a large illustration of a cowboy, and black shorts portraying an inverted collage of scorpions and “Lost Gods” text.
