Maison Margiela Drops Glossy Charcoal Fusion Lace-Up Loafers
Blending two traditional footwear staples.
Maison Margiela has dropped a brand new silhouette from its Pre-Fall 2020 lineup. Following its airbag-equipped split-toe Tabi boots from last month, the eponymous label has returned, this time with a pair of dress shoes that fuse traditional loafers with lace-up derbys in a sleek charcoal gray colorway.
The top half of the shoe embodies a derby construction, made with smooth black buffed leather. It comes with tonal eyelets and laces as well as thin top-stitching around the edges of uppers. In contrast, the lower half of the footwear piece sports a loafer mold, complete with a miniature tongue, penny loafer strap and reinforced seams around the toebox. Below Margiela’s signature single-stitch motif is a slim horizontal backstay, accompanied by a toothy outsole for optimal traction and support.
Maison Margiela’s Fusion Lace-Up Loafers are currently available at LN-CC for $793 USD.
