Craft Your Own Hender Scheme Coin Bank With Leather DIY Kit

Hender Scheme has unveiled a new leather accessory that puts your DIY skills to the test. Following its python-clad wallet from back in January, the Japanese leathermaker has released its “craft yourself / home” coin bank, complete with DIY essentials that let you handmake your own piggy bank to pass the time at home.
The kit comes with a needle, thread and delicate cow leather panels that come with pre-punched holes. Thin slits have been applied to the corners of the middle section where the side panels are meant to be folded up. The top of the piece has been cut in the shape of a small roof, to be joined together by an additional leather piece that boasts a small entry slit for coins, complemented by subtly debossed “Hender Scheme” branding. Hender Scheme’s “Craft Yourself / home” coin back is currently available at the label’s website for ￥5,000 JPY (approx. $47 USD) + tax.
