Watch the New Opening Scene for 'Final Fantasy VII Remake'
Including newly implemented moments.
Square Enix has released a new video for its upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, however, this one relives the opening sequence of the original Final Fantasy VII from 1997. The five-minute visual above offers a wave of familiar moments from the original opening alongside some new moments made especially for the remake.
The video above showcases a more detailed look at the gritty metropolis setting of Midgar, which will serve as the title’s primary location. The new footage includes kids on the street with their bikes and construction workers working on the city, showing a much more lived-in environment than what the original game conveyed. Finally, the camera pans to Aerith as she looks up into the sky and stars as Nobuo Uematsu’s score plays in the background and Cloud’s train arrives.
Originally slated to launch next month, Final Fantasy VII Remake will now arrive on April 10 for PlayStation 4.
