Nike Basketball Shares a Detailed Look at the Kyrie 7 "Raygun"
The Brooklyn point guard once again shows his penchant for the fictional ABA hoops team.
Just in the nick of time for the start of the new NBA season, Nike Basketball has unveiled one of its newest propositions: the Kyrie 7 “Raygun”.
Kyrie Irving has a longtime love for nostalgic Nike SB Dunks, one being the ever-classic “Raygun” Pack that launched in 2005. So to honor this penchant, he’s given the fictional ABA basketball squad new life by integrating its motif into his basketball signatures. The first was the Kyrie 3 which exclusively launched via the Boston Sneakeasy in 2018, while the second is this newly surfaced Kyrie 7 makeup which has intentions of receiving a wider release to the public.
Designed to nod to the Roswell team’s away uniforms, this hoops-ready offering tinges its ventilated mesh exterior in stark black, and lays down web-like patterns underneath which peak out in “Team Orange”. Splashes of “University Gold” line the heel’s leather panel as well as the stitches that border the lateral side Swooshes. The alien green Raygun insignias are placed on the heels and towards the lower throat, the latter of which opts to the go with the basketball head instead of the entire body.
On top of all of that, angelic finishes see to the laces, Kyrie emblems on the tongues as well as the entire treading. Expect this colorway to launch via Nike and select stockists on January 2.
