Netflix Goes Back-To-School in Post Apocalyptic Trailer for 'Daybreak' Series
Ferris Bueller’s Matthew Broderick is also seen as a school principal.
Netflix has released a new trailer for its upcoming Original series Daybreak, revolving around a group of schoolkids getting caught up in the post-apocalyptic after a nuclear bomb goes off.
The series features Ferris Bueller’s Day Off‘s titular truant Matthew Broderick as the school’s principal, and the series protagonist Colin Ford stating the film’s iconic line: “And you thought we weren’t going to have any fun with the apocalypse, shame on you.” The visuals above showcase an average day-in-the-life at Glendale High School, only to reveal the world outside is destroyed and its people have gone savage.
Netflix’s official description reads:
“In this post-apocalyptic, genre-bending series, the city of Glendale, California is populated by marauding gangs of jocks, gamers, the 4-H Club, and other fearsome tribes who are kicking ass as they fight to survive in the wake of a nuclear blast (on the night of Homecoming…ugh).
Following an eclectic group of survivors as they navigate this strange and treacherous world, ‘Daybreak” is part samurai saga, part endearing coming-of-age story, and part Battle Royale. This Generation A-series (A for Apocalypse! Get it?) is rated TV MA.”
Check out the trailer above and catch Daybreak when it debuts October 24.
