'Star Wars' Releases New Featurette Tracking the Evolution of Stormtroopers
From ‘A New Hope’ all the way to ‘The Rise of Skywalker.’
Catching on the immense popularity of the Star Wars franchise right now thanks to the highly successful The Mandalorian series on Disney+ — and needless to say, baby Yoda — as well as the upcoming grand finale of the Skywalker Saga with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Lucasfilm has released a new six-minute featurette following the evolution of one of cinema’s most iconic creations: the Stormtrooper.
Originally debuted earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, the video brings us through the countless transformations of the classic Empire soldiers from the most basic Imperial Stormtroopers from A New Hope back in 1977 to the huge variety of Clone Troopers from the prequel trilogy and animated show to even the new red-clad Sith Troopers in the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker film. Other worthy mentions include the Scout Troopers from Return of the Jedi, the Death Troopers from Rogue One, and the chromed-out Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens.
Check out the full video above, and for more Star Wars-related news, John Boyega’s script for the upcoming movie was listed on eBay.
