Kevin Gates Spotlights Suicide Prevention for New "Walls Talking" Video
A highlight of his recent ‘I’m Him’ LP.
Currently on tour in support of his most recent studio album I’m Him, Kevin Gates teams up with music video director Zhamak Fullad for the visual for the Richie Souf-produced I’m Him record “Walls Talking,” following last month’s vignette for “RBS Intro.” Notably, today’s clip for “Walls Talking” is also part of a partnership between Kevin Gates and suicide prevention and mental health awareness outfit Save.Org.
“Music has always been therapy for me,” Kevin Gates explains via an official statement. “Anyone who is struggling out there should know they aren’t alone. I got you.”
“Sometimes, venting is the best thing you can do to cleanse your heart,” Kevin Gates previously shared via another press statement. “I’m not going to let the pain from my past affect my future. You need to let go of unresolved grief. Don’t keep it all bottled inside.”
“Our mission is to prevent suicide,” Dr. Dan Reidenberg, Save.org’s Executive Director, adds. “Breaking down the stigma of mental health helps saves lives and with Kevin’s new song and video his is doing just that.”
“I’m still passionate, I still care, I still give a f*ck about my craft,” Gates told Ebro Darden during a July interview for Apple Music’s Beats 1 network, breaking down his current mindset towards the rap game and his career. “I’m still attempting to become greater.”
