Chemist Creations Imagines Clean Takes on ASICS' GEL-Kayano 5 OG & GEL-FujiTrabuco 7 SPS
Marking the launch of C2H4’s diffusion label.

Expanding its creative umbrella, C2H4 recently launched its diffusion label Chemist Creations to explore pared-down lifestyle expressions. The alternate perspective focuses on shape, color, material and texture to survey modern cultural in relation to the rational and emotional philosophy of the brand.
To mark its launch, Chemist Creations has collaborated with ASICS on clean new takes on the GEL-Kayano 5 OG and GEL-FujiTrabuco 7 SPS. With two colorways for each model, all shoes included in the collaboration come with a Snaplock Carabiner marked with “化學製品” (Chemist Creations in Chinese script).
Done in “Marshmallow” and “Nickel,” the Chemist Creations x ASICS GEL-Kayano 5 OG expresses the brand’s chemistry inspiration with a look at the process of sublimation. The uppers on the shoe are constructed of a mix of premium chamois leather, suede and technical mesh. The tongue portion is accented by a unique double-lacing system marked with 3M reflective detailing. Aside from the co-branding embroidering and printing, the shoe features transparent ASICS stripes at the midfoot which obscure a Tyvek print. Finally, elevating the collaboration is a chunky GEL-assisted midsole paired with a treaded rubber outsole.
While the “Soda Pop” and “Charcoal” GEL-FujiTrabuco 7 SPS sees Chemist Creations offer its take on the trail-running model. The contemporary approach on the shoe sees the application of the drawstring LACE GARAGE system applied to the premium leather and waterproof mesh base upper. Branding on the shoe comes in the form of printed ASICS stripes at the midfoot and “化學製品” marked on the rear. The shoe rests upon a FLYTEFOAM midsole with GEL and DUOMAX technology paired with an ASICS Grip Outsole provides enhanced comfort and stability.
The Chemist Creations x ASICS GEL-Kayano 5 OG is set to release October 19 and the GEL-FujiTrabuco 7 SPS collaboration will release November 9 in limited quantities.
