Watch the Powerful First Trailer for 'Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le'
Lifetime are leaving no stone unturned.

Lifetime have premiered the debut trailer for the television movie Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le. The film will explore the troubled relationships between Michel’le – the first solo female artist to be signed to Ruthless Records – Suge Knight, and Dr. Dre, depicting the highs and lows of their experiences together during the height of the N.W.A. days. Unlike Straight Outta Compton, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le will delve into Dre’s controversial domestic violence issues; the trailer includes a scene where he grabs Michel’le by the throat during a tense recording studio session.
Michel’le, who has a son with Dre, has been open in the past about her omission as a character from last year’s Straight Outta Compton. ”Why would [Dre] put me in it? I was just a quiet girlfriend who got beat on and told to sit down and shut up,” she revealed in a telling interview with VladTV at the time of the film’s release. Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le will premiere on Lifetime on October 15. Watch the trailer above.
