Sharebeast Has Been Shut Down
Yet another file-sharing website is gone.

The US Department of Justice has shut down popular file-sharing site Sharebeast. Those attempting to log onto the website will find nothing but the all-too-familiar FBI Anti-Piracy Warning message, which states, “this domain name has been seized by the FBI.” Along with Sharebeast, the well-known outfit albumjams.com has also been seized and shut down. In a statement, RIAA CEO Cary Sherman called Sharbeeast’s closing a “huge win for the music community and legitimate music services.” Sherman added, “Sharebeast operated with flagrant disregard for the rights of artists and labels while undermining the legal marketplace. The RIAA also alleges that it “reported takedown requests” to the site for over 100,000 “infringing files.”
