Vans Checkerboard Old Skool & Authentic Get a Gum Sole Mashup
Half gum, half white.
Vans continues to reimagine its flagship Checkerboard models after countless iterations. Following up on a “Checkerboard Flames” pack, the skate imprint now gives its Checkerboard Old Skool and Authentic a special gumsole remix.
Both silhouettes feature a classic all-over print canvas upper, which sits atop a mashup of a gum and white rubber cupsole. The gum heel piece is fused to the rear sidewall with slightly extended foxing tape and the signature “Off the Wall” logo, rounded out with the familiar waffle outsole.
